DaBaby was scheduled to be on 'DaStage' tonight at 9p, but it looks like that's not gonna happen because DaBaby isn't "about love and inclusivity" according to the festival's statement explaining why turned down the disgraced rapper.
"Lollapalooza was founded on diversity, inclusivity, respect and love. With that in mind, DaBaby will no longer be performing at Grand Park tonight. Young Thug's performance will now take place at 9:00pm on the Bud Light Seltzer Stage, and G Herbo will perform at 4:00pm on the T-Mobile Stage."
..said the festival in their official statement. 150,000 fans are said to be in attendance that won't get a chance to have DaBaby hurl insensitivities at them this evening.
In the event you've been living under a rock and are not 'In the Know' with the reason as to why DaBaby is losing deals and being dragged, let me catch you up. The backlash is a response to his onstage rant last weekend at the Rolling Loud festival in Miami; DaBaby told the audience to put their phones up and said,
"If you didn't show up today with HIV/AIDS or other STDs that'll make you die in 2-3 weeks" and "Fellas, if you didn't suck a n***a d**k in the parking lot."
He then went on to explain hisself and stated everyone who was not there in person is jumbling his words around and that his words weren't directed at his gay fans because they're not "nasty gay n****s" or "junkies" and they take care of themselves.
He later issued a quarter of an apology but unlaced that in its entirety with a slew of garbage, ignorant, small minded and homophobic rants. He's got a decent amount of support though, surprisingly. T.I. and Lil Boosie have stuck by his side, defending and agreeing with his sentiments 100 percent. The 3 Musketeers used Lil Nas X as an example of an LGBTQIA+ community member whose lifestyle may offend heterosexual people and children. Of course everyone doesn't agree with this nor are they giving him a pass for his blatant and willful ignorance. Beyonce and Doja Cat unfollowed DaBaby and the clothing company, Boohoo, stopped working with DaBaby soon after the heinous comments. On top of that, Dua Lipa, who has a huge hit with DaBaby titled, "Levitating,"denounced his remarks .. and their song has reportedly been removed from multiple Apple Music playlists.
Well, what are your thoughts about DaBaby being stuck in the thick of this week long chaos?
